Aldershot Town has signed former Slough Town midfielder John Gilbert, who joins the Shots pending the end of his contract from Maidstone United. The energetic midfielder has played under Scott Davies before at Slough Town. In the 25/26 season at Maidstone United, Gilbert made 42 appearances, scoring 10 league goals and assisting 3. John, under the management of Scott, already once before at Slough Town, the all-action midfielder successfully stepped up to the National League South, making 46 appearances in all competitions and scoring nine goals. The central midfielder joins the Shots pending the end of his contract from Maidstone United. Scott Davies said, "I’m delighted to get Gilbs on board with us. He’s someone who has played for me previously, and knowing the way he plays, I know he will be a fan's favourite.
