Aldershot Town has completed the loan signing of young defender Sam Inwood from Bolton Wanderers. Inwood, 20, made a couple of first-team appearances for Bolton last season, including starts against Peterborough and Stevenage. He also featured in the Carabao Cup against Sheffield Wednesday but was sent off for a foul. The defender now joins Aldershot Town as they aim to bounce back from a tough start to the campaign under new boss John Coleman. Aldershot currently sit 20th in the table, above the drop zone on goal difference, with three wins from their opening 16 league games. Sam Inwood told the club he's buzzing to be at Aldershot Town and get his first loan experience. John Coleman added that Inwood's calibre of football can really benefit the team. Bolton Wanderers' head coach Ian Schumacher stated that playing competitive men's football is essential for young players like Inwood. Schumacher mentioned that Max Conway really benefitted from a loan spell last year and hopes Inwood will have the same experience. Inwood's loan move is part of Bolton's plan to replicate Conway's path to first-team success. The defender is expected to play regular men's football and gain valuable experience. With Inwood's signing, Aldershot Town hopes to improve their standings in the National League. The team's new boss, John Coleman, will be looking to turn things around after a tough start to the season. Coleman took charge last week and has already made a significant signing in Sam Inwood. The defender's experience in League One can be a valuable asset to the team. Inwood's loan spell will last for the rest of the season, giving him ample time to make an impact. Aldershot Town fans will be hoping that Inwood's signing will be the start of a turnaround in the team's fortunes.
